DELI OWNER SHOOTS ARMED ROBBER


A Philadelphia deli owner shot an armed man who was attempting to rob him, police say.

It happened around 8 p.m. Thursday at the 65th and Lebanon Avenue Deli in Overbrook.

Police say the man walked into the deli and declared a holdup.

The owner whois licensed to carry pulled out his gun and shot the suspect in the groin.

The suspect was taken to Lankenau Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
