Fairfax, Va.—The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) today kicked-off a seven-figure media campaign in the Missouri senate race with an ad titled Always Missouri. The ad will air statewide on cable, regional broadcast and digital platforms.
“Our basic right to keep a firearm in the home for self-defense is at risk ” said Chris W. Cox, chairman of NRA-PVF. “Claire McCaskill consistently sides with liberal, anti-gun elites and against our constitutional freedoms. If Missourians want to protect their basic right to self-defense they need to replace Claire McCaskill.”
The ad focuses on the Second Amendment and the Supreme Court. Currently, the U.S. Supreme Court is split 4-4 on the basic right to keep a firearm in the home for self-defense. Consistent with all of her previous votes on Supreme Court nominees, McCaskill has stated she will side with Chuck Schumer and vote against President Trump’s current nominee, Brett Kavanaugh.
“Claire McCaskill is a threat to our constitutional freedoms. She earned her ‘F’ rating when she abandoned Missouri values to curry favor with liberal anti-gun elites in Washington, DC,” continued Cox.
McCaskill supports a ban on commonly owned rifles, voted to deny people on secret government lists their Second Amendment rights without due process, and supported President Obama’s back door gun ban on Social Security recipients. McCaskill has a perfect record of siding with liberal anti-gun elites on Supreme Court nominees. She voted to confirm anti-gun Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan and voted against pro-Second Amendment Justice Neil Gorsuch.
“The stakes for this election are clear. If you value your constitutional right to self-defense, vote Josh Hawley for U.S. Senate. Josh Hawley will always defend our Second Amendment freedoms,” concluded Cox.
