Police: Girlfriend drove victim to deadly shooting scene to collect on a bet

Columbus Police are investigating a deadly shooting in southwest Columbus.

It happened around 10:30 a.m. Monday in the 700 block of Canonby Place.

Authorities told 10TV the male victim was found lying on the ground. He was transported to Mount Carmel West where he was pronounced dead.

Police say the victim’s girlfriend told investigators that she drove her boyfriend to the location of the shooting to collect on a Super Bowl bet and when he exited the vehicle, he was shot in the head.
