I was reading a Facebook post made by the website Guns.com. The post referred to two LGBTQP+ communities joining forces, those would be Blazing Swords and Pink Pistols. Needless to say, the comments were a little disturbing.
One notable comment made was about the LGBTQP+ activism in Schools
I get some would be upset about the overreach from the LGBTQP+ activist in schools and the changing of curriculum to incorporate gender identity studies for first graders.
Moreover, by the fall 2017 Washington state public schools began teaching gender expression to kindergarteners under newly-approved health education learning standards that designate sexual health a “core idea” of public K-12 education.
Additionally, every year more Schools are joining the curriculum change. However, that’s only one aspect of the contention on the post. Also mentioned was the denial of science.
Many commenters went on mention the LGBTQP+ denial of Science and Biology, fighting over restroom privileges, same-sex marriage and so on.
Despite all aforementioned, here comes the Second Amendment, not a privilege but a right for every American. Therefore on this issue we could all find common ground. Not so much.
The Guns.com Facebook page is about gun-right so you would think people coming to their page would support gun-rights for everyone, even the LGBTQP+ community, and without question.
Here are some screenshots.
We don’t need to see eye to eye on every aspect of life, furthermore, when it comes to gun-rights all hands should be on deck. Let’s put aside our differences and fight for one common goal, which is advancing the Second Amendment for everyone.
Let’s put the anti-gay comments aside and focus on bringing more LGBTQP+ people into the shooting sports and encouraging the ones that are already there.
Additionally, these comments only go to hurt our 2A cause and separate us even further in the long run.
