St. Louis woman fatally shoots robber during exchange of gunfire (VIDEO)

A 20-year-old man was shot and killed Thursday evening as he and an accomplice attempted to rob three people inside a St. Louis apartment.

Reports indicate Jarrett Richardson and another man unlawfully entered the apartment through an unlocked door around 4:40 p.m. and announced a robbery to the three occupants – two 21-year-old women and a 24-year-old man.

However, one of the women grabbed a gun of her own and exchanged gunfire with the suspects, striking Richardson and causing the second suspect to flee.

When the police arrived, they found Richardson lying just inside of the front door. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The second suspect remains at large. The intended victims were not harmed.

The incident remains under investigation, but at this time no charges have been filed against the woman who shot Richardson.
