US Marshals take down local armed robbery suspect

The US Marshal Violent Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team in Utah arrested a man wanted in connection with a fatal home invasion in Louisiana, a Utah news station is reporting.

Aaron Kern, 20, was arrested as he waited for his car to be serviced in Draper, Utah. Surveillance video obtained by the Utah station shows Kern being arrested by marshals.

The station is reporting that Kern was wanted in connection with the Jan. 25, 2018, home invasion on Madeline Street in Lake Charles.

Cpl. Larry Moss, with the Lake Charles Police Department spokesman, said more information on the case will be released in the morning.

Authorities said at the time that Isaiah Williams, 23, was killed by the homeowner as he attempted to break into the home. Freddie Vezia, who is suspected of breaking into the home with Williams, was arrested days after the shooting. Vezia is charged with one count of home invasion and one count of second-degree murder. Authorities said Vezia was charged with second-degree murder as a principal in a home invasion that resulted in death.
