The two men, both armed with handguns, broke into the Tattersall Drive home at 7:55 a.m., finding a man and woman inside. The man told investigators that he thinks the two men were trying to rob him, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
At some point, the woman, who armed herself, was shot in the arm while exchanging gunfire with the two suspects.
The woman was treated and has since been released.
Investigators do not know if either suspect was shot. The suspects fled the home without taking anything, Fortunato said.
